More than a coffee shop

Maranatha Café is born of a vision to bring together hospitality, entrepreneurship and mission. We believe that a business can be more than a source of income: it can become a tool to serve people, create opportunities and express the love of Jesus in practical ways.

In Bangkok, we dream of establishing a coffee shop that will be a centre of restoration, mission and unity, connecting the local community, the Thai Church and missionaries from different parts of the world.

Maranatha Café will be an expression of Business as Mission — business in the service of mission —, seeking to develop a sustainable operation that contributes to social and spiritual impact in the city.

Our mission

To create a sustainable business, known for its love, excellence and service, that creates dignified opportunities for women in vulnerable situations, strengthens the unity of the Church and brings together people from different nations.

Three expressions of Maranatha Café

  1. Restoration through work

    One of the central reasons for Maranatha Café’s existence is to contribute to the restoration of women affected by sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

    We want to create opportunities for dignified employment, professional development and life together in a safe and welcoming environment. The café will also be able to build links with the work of Pearls of Thailand, widening the possibilities for training and social reintegration.

    We believe that work, when accompanied by care and real opportunities, can be part of a process of rebuilding life and autonomy.

  2. Unity of the Thai Church

    We long for the café to be a meeting place for Christians, churches and local leaders. Around a table, relationships can be strengthened, friendships can be born and different communities can find new opportunities for cooperation.

    We want to contribute to a Church that is more connected, strengthened and committed to the mission of Jesus in Thailand.

  3. Connecting missionaries from the nations

    Bangkok welcomes missionaries and teams from different parts of the world who live, work or pass through Asia. Maranatha Café wants to be a place of hospitality and connection for these people, offering an environment where they can share experiences, find fellowship and strengthen friendships.

    We dream of a table that brings together cultures, stories and generations, making room for encouragement and unity.

Our vision

To be a centre of restoration, mission and unity in the heart of Bangkok, showing that the love of Jesus can also be lived out through work, hospitality and everyday service.

We want to build a business that unites professional excellence and purpose, with an impact that reaches beyond its walls.

Maranatha means “Come, Lord”. Our desire is that everyone who comes through our doors will find genuine hospitality, be welcomed with dignity and experience a little of the love that moves us.

We go on slowly and humbly, changing one world at a time.

Maranatha Café will be a welcoming coffee shop in Bangkok, bringing together speciality coffee, bakery goods, vintage furniture, cosy lighting and plants. More than a business, we want to create a space of restoration, hospitality and unity.
